SgtMaj Ronda Kirkby, USMC, is the Vice President of Awards on the SSLA Board. She is overall responsible for the SSLA awards program, including the National Rising Star Award, which recognizes outstanding graduating ROTC members from the across the country. She serves as the liaison and coordinator for presentation of the Armed Services annual leadership awards that are presented at the SSLA JWLS event each year.

Ronda has served in the United States Marine Corps for 27 years in a variety of billets. She is currently assigned as the Manpower Management Sergeant Major in Quantico, Va. She will be transferring this summer to her new assignment as the 1st Marine Logistics Group Sergeant Major in Camp Pendleton, Ca.

Ronda holds a B.A. in Social Psychology from Park University, M.A. in Human Relations from The University of Oklahoma, and a Doctorate in Social Work from University of Southern California where she specialized in social isolation of military veterans as they transition.

She enjoys traveling with her husband, reading, and shopping.
